I’m currently through the first episode of Jeremy Paxman’s Empire and I’m really enjoying it. I’ve watched just the first part about the Sepoys’ Mutiny in India and - having read about it extensively in loads Oxbridge’s books and works - I must say that the subject has been dealt with somehow roughly here and there, and being the aim of the programme to reach a vast - and often not at all competent about this kind of stuff - audience this could be slightly misleading. I’ll wait to watch the whole set of episodes to express a complete opinion about Paxman’s work. Meanwhile I must admit that the footage and the photography are really SPLENDID and to give a face to people or watch places I’ve only read about in books is the most wonderful feeling ever. Can’t wait to see more, but I have to come back to my books.
I’m wondering if it would be possible to have a list of all the painting and pictures used, which would come in handy for my very thesis.

You English fellas:

any tip about recently made movies/tv series about WW2, WW2 home front in Britain, British empire, things involving life during the war in the UK and this sort of stuff? Movies/TV series made by the BBC, UK Film Council stuff, things valid from an historical point of view, stuff similar to The King’s Speech or Upstairs Downstairs or documentaries similar to for example The History Of Safari with Richard E Grant or the monumental History Of Britain?

Please please, I’ve watched all my supplies and I’m currently studying a lot and I want to keep on learning at nite with a goddamn good film.

Any suggestion would be appreciated.

xx

(the laugh on confirmed bachelor John Watson was a surplus)

Dear Steven M.,
not just because you highlight something you can think no one will ever notice that you repeated the same sentence twice, you troll!

Just to come back to what really matters i.e. soul music HERE HAVE SOME MARTIN BLOODY FREEMAN DJING FOR JAM UP TWIST AND SPINNING SOME SOUL. So screw Sherlock, screw Moriarty - I KNEW THAT MARTIN WAS THE REAL LAD OUT THERE.

And this is the further evidence that a. all my obsession are closely related, b. who listens to soul music is better than who doesn’t.

ISN’T THIS A CLUE?

First pic: Sherlock’s getting down the step at St Bart.’s Hospital to tell Moriarty that til he’s got him he don’t have to die.

Second pic: A few moments after Moriarty has shot himself it appears something on the step - blood? - which wasn’t there before.

Or maybe I’m just a common twat.

The fact that millions of twats keep on being fooled by this very man is driving me mad. Or better the fact that people who haven’t got the faintest of Conan Doyle’s short stories and novels keep on watching the amazing adaptation of Moffat and Gatiss is a SHAME. How on earth can you fuckin value this amazing tv serie IF YOU HAVEN’T READ THE BLOODY NOVELS/SHORT STORIES? WHY ARE YOU SO AMAZED IF YOU CAN’T APPRECIATE EVERY SINGLE AMAZINGLY WELL DONE REFERENCE TO CONAN DOYLE’S SHERLOCK HOLMES? You should definitely go back to the fuckin Guy Ritchie shit, it’s what you deserve. Stop being such a child public: It’s bloody obvious what will happen. Sherlock Holmes will fuckin “die” tonight after a fight with Moriarty and then after three years you will descover that he never died but he was just hiding helping in secret the British government. Moffat and Gatiss are well obsessed with Conan Doyle as I am and I’m sure they will be pretty faithful to his work. Stop being pricks moaning about Sherlock’s death EVEN JUST BECAUSE THE THIRD SERIE HAS BEEN CONFIRMED, you twats.
